On Friday, February 25, Coco Martin, better known on-screen as Cardo Dalisay, is making the rounds as he launches his endorsement of a new partylist – AP Partylist #AkoyPilipino – rather than the partylist with the same name as his program.

“May kakampi na tayo, anoman ang hirap na ating pinagdadaanan…” Martin launched his new party-list group in a video that is already circulating online, with first nominee Rep. Ronnie Ong in action in the backdrop. “Ang AP Partylist ang tutulong magbigay ng trabaho at kabuhayan sa mga manggagawang Pilipino,” he goes on to say.

Rep. Ronnie Ong, a longtime friend of Coco Martin, is known as the “frontliner Congressman” by PeopleAsia. Since the first lockdown, Ong has been renowned for his innovative COVID-19 Bayanihan programs, such as his #LibrengSakay program for health professionals, #LibrengGulay program for community kitchens, #LibrengTablets, and E-skwela Hub e-learning centers for students and instructors.

Prior to the pandemic, Ong’s Tulong Pangkabuhayan program assisted elderly persons looking for job by placing able-bodied and willing-to-work elders at airports, public colleges, and government institutions. He also used out-of-work transport workers like UV Express or FX drivers as #LibrengSakay drivers during the pandemic, as well as some laid-off ABS-CBN employees who found alternative job as contact tracers.

More than simply Coco Martin, the whole cast of Ang Probinsyano, collectively known as “Task Force Agila,” has declared their support for AP Partylist on social media, sharing the different advocacies of AP Partylist that are most important to them. “Mula po noong umpisa nakasama na namin si Cong. Apart from the endorsement video, AP Partylist teamed with OPM artists Bassilyo, Sisa, and Smugglaz on the hymn “Ako’y Pilipino,” which celebrates Filipino pride, dedication, and hard work. “Ikaw ay magtiwala, magtiwalang may magagawa,” they sing.
